St. Raphaela’s Secondary School
St. Raphaela’s Secondary School is
located in the suburb of Stillorgan, approximately seven miles from Dublin
City Centre.
The city Centre
is accessible by regular bus service and the Luas tram service.
Dublin City has a host of historical, cultural, and entertainment venues.
A taste
of these are Trinity College, the G.P.O., St. Patrick’s Cathedral,
and Christchurch Cathedral along with theatres, cinemas, and various shopping
malls.
Stillorgan has many facilities for
the young and old. Airfield Trust is
located very close to the school. It was opened in 1805 and is Dublin City’s
only 38-acre working farm. It was established for educational and
environmental purposes. The first shopping mall and the first bowling alley
that were opened
in Ireland are situated in Stillorgan. A large industrial
estate has been established very close to the school, creating employment
in the area.
St. Raphaela’s Secondary School is
situated on the grounds of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
which remains as both founders
and patrons of our school.
St. Raphaela’s
Primary and Secondary Schools are the only schools in Ireland under
the Trusteeship of the Handmaids, but we have many sister schools
in other countries such
as Spain, France, England, and Japan.
Our crest is an important symbol of our educational ethos.
The Latin phrase “Ad Finem Fidelis” means “Faithful to the end,” a tenet we
instill in our students.
