VIII Prywatne Akademickie Liceum
Ogólnoksztalcace, VIII Prywatne Akademickie Liceum Ogólnoksztalcace was founded in 1993. It belongs to a group of the most rapidly developing non-public schools in Krakow. A great number of teachers are recruited from the teaching staff of Krakow universities, especially Pedagogical University, the Jagiellonian University, and AGH University of Science and Technology. This recruitment guarantees high standards of teaching, whereas extensive pedagogical experience of our teachers, together with openness to new challenges and systematically held teaching workshops, contribute to the development and perfecting of the quality of teaching. From the very beginning, our students have been achieving success in various subject Olympiads, e.g. in German, English French, Russian, Polish Language, and Literature, or the European Union Olympiad, and as graduates as they continue their education in a wide range of academic specializations. For several years, the school has taken the leading places in the All-Polish Secondary Schools League Tables compiled and published by Perspektywy, Rzeczpospolita or Gazeta Wyborcza. We earned second place in Malopolska region in 2006, fourth place in 2007, fifth place in 2005, and the fifth and the second place in two different specifications in 2010. Kraków is a cultural capital of Europe,
and our
recent undertaking is opening the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
(September 2012). Our experience in an
individual approach to our
students, promoting volunteerism, and encouraging various activities make
the IB DP a natural step in our development.
